No, Really. Instead of the US bomb bomb bombing Iran - it looks like the Russians are blundering around and doing it for us. No one could have foreseen such a mishap happening, now could they?
Russian missiles aimed at Syria reportedly landed in Iran on Thursday.
The mistaken bombing, launched from a Russian warship in the Caspian Sea, was first reported by CNN, which received the information from two unnamed U.S. officials.
The purported bombing error is likely to be an embarrassment for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who began bombing Syrian rebel targets on Sept. 30.
The United States and Russia seem to like one-upping each other - but trying to see which one can get into the greatest quagmire seems a little much.
CNN says:
A number of cruise missiles launched from a Russian ship and aimed at targets in Syria have crashed in Iran, two U.S. officials told CNN Thursday.
Monitoring by U.S. military and intelligence assets has concluded that at least four missiles crashed as they flew over Iran. One official said there may be casualties, but another official said this is not yet known.
Perhaps we should just leave Russia to it since I don't think the United States or Russia have ever
learned from the past.
